Homepods are great but I have three questions regarding them:ġ- Can I use the built in speaker to answer calls?Ģ- It doesn't have Alexa but as a mac user do I really need Alexa? Does Alexa even work with a mac system?ģ- Can I use them as desktop speakers? Maybe even connect two Homepod mini and make them stereo?ġ- As a mac user, does Alexa add anything to my setup? Other than ordering stuff on Amazon for me? (I've never had an Alexa device so excuse my ignorance)ģ- Can I use the built in mic to answer calls?

Although I have to admit I prefer stereo speakers but if a mono speaker has the features I'm looking for, being mono won't be a deal breaker.Ĭurrently I'm looking at HomePod, HomePod mini (I can get two to make stereo), Sonos and Bose wireless speakers. I'm not an audiophile at all, don't listen to music and the most I do on computer is watch youtube videos. Currently I'm looking at smart home speakers but I don't know if they are the way to go. Obviously Mac mini can't do that so I'm looking for solutions to enable this feature on my Mac mini.

The feature which is miss the most is the ability to answer phone calls, including video calls straight from my laptop. I recently upgraded from a MacBook pro 2018 to a new Mac mini M2 and although I'm loving my Mac mini, there are some features about my MacBook pro which I really miss.
